- When Magellan was 10, he was appointed Page Boy for the queen of Portugal, which helped him become educated.
- Underwent/fought in a war on his voyage and got a serious leg injury which lead too amputation and later got replaced with a wooden leg.
- Also lost an eye, and replaced it with a glass eye.
- Magellan's ship was called "Victoria".
- Only 18 of the 237 men that started the voyage finished, and made it home.
- Magellans voyage lasted from 1519 until 1521. They spent 3 years exploring.
